Faith and Law Senior Staff Reading Group is a Christian worldview reading group for senior Hill staff that is led by Adam Farris, Tim Petty, and Bill Wichterman. We meet in the Capitol monthly over a Chick-fil-A lunch to hear from a Christian public policy expert who has written a thought-provoking piece which we discuss.
This month’s lunch will be Monday, February 12th. We will be discussing Faith Angle Forum, with guest speaker Josh Good.
This event is by invitation only.
Josh Good directs Faith Angle Forum, an EPPC program that helps strengthen reporting and commentary on how religious believers, religious convictions, and moral arguments affect American politics and public life. Faith Angle convenes two-day forums that are intentionally “away” from the power centers of Washington and New York, inviting journalists to go deep with top religion scholars on contemporary issues. Before taking the reins at Faith Angle in 2018, Josh served as a director for the Kern Family Foundation’s Faith, Work, and Economics Program and, prior to that, as manager of the American Enterprise Institute’s outreach program to faculty and student leaders at Christian colleges. He also worked on responsible fatherhood and healthy marriage initiatives, and on a national public-private venture designed to help urban congregations and local businesses work together in employing and supporting ex-prisoners. Josh holds a BA in history from Covenant College and a master’s degree in Christianity and Culture from Harvard University, and his work has been published in The Hill, National Review, The Weekly Standard, World Magazine, The Federalist, and The American.
Faith and Law is a non-profit ministry started by policy makers and for policy makers.
