The Trials and Tribulations of Living an Ethical Life on Capitol Hill
Faith & Law hosted a panel of senior Capitol Hill Veterans, moderated by John Palafoutas, founder of Faith & Law, to explore the “Trials and Tribulations of Living an Ethical Life on Capitol Hill.”
Panelists included:
- Arne Christenson, former Chief of Staff to then Speaker Newt Gingrich.
- Nicole Gustafson, former senior policy advisor and chief counsel to former Majority Leader/Minority Whip Eric Cantor.
- Luke Murry, former National Security Advisor for Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy.
Arne Christenson currently serves as AIPAC’s Managing Director of Policy and Politics. Christenson previously served as the Senior Vice President for Government Affairs and as head of the Washington office of American Express, and as Senior Vice President for Regulatory Policy at Fannie Mae. He also served as Chief of Staff to then-Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and to former Congressman Vin Weber.
Luke Murry is the Head of Government Affairs at Marvell Technologies, a leading semiconductor company based in Silicon Valley. He currently oversees global government affairs with responsibility for the company’s public policy agenda and regulatory engagement on a range of priorities. From 2017-2021, he served as House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy’s National Security Advisor, advising the Leader and helping shape Republican positions on the full range of foreign policy and defense issues facing the country. Prior to joining the Leader’s Office, he was the Staff Director of the Terrorism, Nonproliferation, and Trade Subcommittee for the House Foreign Affairs Committee and served in two Congressional offices, where he focused on reforming foreign assistance and protecting victims of sexual assault. Mr. Murry holds a M.A. degree with honors in Security Studies from Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service and graduated Phi Beta Kappa from UCLA with a B.A. degree in Political Science and minor in East Asian Languages and Cultures.
