Aristotle taught that every good deed requires a beautiful image. A healthy American republic requires a steady supply of good deeds, great and small. Then it stands to reason, America needs a great store of beautiful images designed to help us maintain our way of life and preserve equal justice, liberty, and law. Dr. Mehan is at the end of his long research and writing project to complete his illustrated, semiquincentennial celebratory work, The American Book of Fables. Join him for a discussion of what must be done to restore the American Imagination.

This talk is a part of our Founding Freedoms Lecture Series, that seeks to help Capitol Hill Staff think more deeply about the freedoms bequeathed to this nation – and the religious tenets that undergird them.
