Members and Spouses Breakfast: “The American Experiment and the Restraint of Power” with Dr. Os Guinness

The roots of the American experiment are in the Books of Exodus and Deuteronomy and the 17th century rediscovery of the so-called “Hebrew Republic.’ But the Hebrew Republic gave us not only the master narrative of Western freedom, it demonstrated an equally important sustained critique of the abuse of power. Unless the biblical and the founders’ view of power and its abuse is maintained, the American Republic will no longer be a counter to the global menace of authoritarian and totalitarian societies.
