When it comes to religious freedom, should Christians support diversity or are there any limits to religious freedom? If so, what are those limits and how do we determine them in a diverse society?

This event was in partnership with the American Studies Program at the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU) and the Center for Public Justice.

Stanley Carlson-Thies is the Founder and Senior Director of the Institutional Religious Freedom Alliance, a division of the Center for Public Justice. He is an expert on the federal Faith-Based Initiative and served in the inaugural White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Lauren Baas is the Residential Program Coordinator for the American Studies Program (ASP), a semester-long DC based internship program focused on political bridge-building. ASP also serves as a convener for organizations and individuals working in the political bridge-building space and considering the intersections of religion and politics. Before joining the American Studies Program, Lauren worked with Dr. Richard Mouw on his most recent book,How to Be a Patriotic Christian: Love of Country as Love of Neighbor. Lauren is a graduate of Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Emily Fromke is the Program Director for Shared Justice, CPJ’s program for Christian college students and young adults that works to inspire and equip the next generation of leaders with the framework and tools needed for a sustained commitment to civic engagement and advocacy in their communities. Before joining CPJ she worked on Capitol Hill for four different U.S. senators. She is a graduate of Wheaton College (IL) and an alumna of the Falls Church Fellowship Program.
